  • Spay It Forward

  • Spay/Neuter is vital to our goal of drastically reducing euthanasia at our shelter. And our Spay It Forward Fund helps many animals receive this important procedure. Specifically, feral cats and pit bulls (the two most overpopulated animals in our community) benefit greatly from this Fund. We offer a drastically reduced fee for ferals ($15 per cat) and we provide free spay/neuter for all York County pit bulls. Providing these discounted services is draining on our resources but donations from our Spay It Forward help to subsidize the costs. Please consider making a donation to the Spay It Forward Fund. It is a tangible way to help reduce pet overpopulation.
  • Second Chance Fund (any amount)

  • The second chance fund exists to pay for the veterinary care for animals who need medical care that is more extensive than we can provide at our shelter. Sometimes these animals have been injured in accidents and sometimes these animals have been cruelly mistreated. This is an excellent opportunity for those who have a place in their heart for those desperate animals who need a second chance.
  • Equine Care Fund

  • The York County SPCA plays an important role in the wellness of horses in our community. In fact, the York County SPCA Humane Officer receives many calls every year regarding the possible abuse or neglect of horses in our community. And, there are times when it is necessary for the shelter to take custody of horses that are not being properly cared for. The York County SPCA is caring for over 20 horses from a recent cruelty investigation. This care includes extensive veterinary care for numerous horses with varying degrees of untreated medical ailments. This care is not only laborious but it is very costly as well. Therefore, the York County SPCA has an Equine Care Fund to help us in this endeavor. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to the Equine Care Fund and help us to continue our mission of caring for mistreated horses!
  • Naming Opportunities

  • We have stainless steel totally indoor dog kennels that are the state of the art in modern kennel installations. Donors are recognized with a permanent pewter plaque located above the kennel door. 100% outside air ventilation, air conditioning, and high pressure wash down, automatic watering; double compartment kennels provide an excellent housing solution for our dogs while they wait for new families.
  • Our cattery is a centralized facility that displays hundreds of cats for adoption. Cats are efficiently serviced from the cattery and are well displayed to the public. Donors are recognized with a small permanent plaque located above each compartment. While our cat adoption rooms are the best long term environment for the cats, our cat population demands that we use these smaller cat enclosures.
  • Three of our beautiful adoption rooms have not yet been sponsored. These rooms are used to house and display as many as 6 small dogs or 14 cats in a group setting. The cats are very comfortable in this setting and these rooms are the best choice for cats who may spend months in our shelter waiting for adoption.
  • We have two small adoption rooms which are often used to display groups of kittens. These rooms are adjacent to the reception counter and therefore get the maximum exposure to customers. These rooms are often full of six very active kittens. These rooms will receive a sponsor pewter plaque facing the reception counter.
