"The relationship between a community and its animal inhabitants depends on a cooperative effort to ensure safety to both and protection to our dependent pets and other native animals. The paw print and free-flowing heart symbol (related together to express this partnership) represent a natural emotional desire on our part to coexist and look out for animals that suffer from cruelty, illness and just may need loving, responsible homes. The roughness and simplicity of the graphic expresses this as a simple, basic emotional feeling of compassion and love for animals.
