Owner Surrender Form (Cat)

The cost to surrender a cat is $35. If you must surrender your cat, please complete and submit this Cat Surrender Profile form, including the appointment request. You can request a specific date but we cannot guarantee that we will have an available appointment on that date. We will do our best to accommodate to your schedule. If you have multiple cats please fill out a form for each cat to ensure that we can take them at the same time. When the York County SPCA receives your form, we will contact you to set up your appointment.

If you are experiencing a financial hardship and are unable to afford our surrender fee, please speak with a member of our management team.  We are happy to work with you in any way we can.

Step 5: Appointment Request

  • Appointments are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays only. This is only an appointment request form. Appointments are only valid when you are contacted to confirm your requested date.

Step 6: Signature

  • Please understand that while we make every effort to find placement for all animals coming into the York County SPCA, we are an open admission shelter and cannot make any guarantee your animal will be adopted. Unfortunately, there are times we may have to make the difficult decision to humanely euthanize animals in our care. By signing your animal over to us, the York County SPCA becomes the legal owner and we will not release the disposition of any animals in our care. Type your name in the box below and select the date to indicate your agreement with our policy and sign your dog over to the York County SPCA.
