Introducing Lady Katherine!
Lady Katherine is a 6 year old unregistered thoroughbred mare. She stands 15.2 hands. Although Lady K is still considered green, she has a broad foundation of training. She has been schooled in a ring – W, T, and C; and has many miles of cross country work. As with all of our young horses, she has been exposed to various events to help with her development – hunter paces, schooling shows, and trailering to dressage lessons. She has excellent ground manners, including standing for the vet and farrier. Her preferred home is a pasture with a shed – 24/7.
Lady Katherine has the potential to do just about anything asked of her. She has developed a good work ethic. She is sound, forward, willing, and is exceptionally responsive to training. At the same time, she can become distracted and anxious in certain situations. She is making progress in learning how to relax and return to a state of calm after becoming anxious, but she will require an experienced and steady rider to continue her education and help her build confidence.
We believe that Lady K has a very bright future. We would like to see her re-homed where she will continue to have variety in her experiences with someone who will have the patience, desire and commitment to help her reach her full potential.
Lady K’s video can be seen at:

EQUINE ADOPTION VIDEO
Thank you to everyone who made our 1st Horsey Hoedown a great success: our generous sponsors; volunteers; planning committee members; the Whiskey River Band; our guest speaker – Skip Seifert, President of the Pennsylvania Equine Council; and all of the attendees.
Horsey Hoedown proceeds benefit the York County SPCA’s Equine Fund. To learn more about our Equine Program, check out our new video that made its debut at Saturday’s event. Special thanks to Scott Miller for creating it for us!
